Change for 'Minorities'

"Minority groups" refer to social groups that do not dominate in the overall population of an existing society and cannot constitute a majority in political voting. In the ecosystem of the arts, these groups manifest as those differing from the mainstream in terms of existence methods or ideologies, such as art groups under heterogeneous cultures, alternative spaces, and visualized storages. They exist as a type of "minority group" at various links within the art ecological chain, often remaining unseen or undiscovered over long periods. This "minority group" also exists to some extent in a "majority" state—the secular definition of "success" is in fact held only by a few individuals.

The "external world" and its so-called "mainstream" influence us persistently and covertly—where the central role of subjectivity in the domestication process is challenged and rebelled against by the objectified "other," often switching roles, thus being almost in a subject-like position. This is also one of the anticipated goals of "transformation": that in the future, there might be no binary oppositions, no division between mainstream and non-mainstream, nor any use of the term "minority groups."
